JENNA MCCLURE

Opening my own salon has been a dream come true. The minute I saw the studio at 114 Pearl Alley, I knew I'd found the perfect location to combine my artistic vision, my green lifestyle and my commitment to customer care. I believe strongly in becoming more conscientious about using resources to contribute to a sustainable planet. My business reflects this personal philosophy by providing a healthy and creative professional environment that is inspiring and nourishing to my clients, coworkers and community.

I am a native Californian and a graduate of the Shoreline School of Cosmetology, and before opening L'Atelier I spent four years as an independent contractor at Lavish Salon. While there I honed my technical skills in natural hair coloring, modern gray blending, highlighting, and creative cutting. I've combined this experience with a mathematical technique, which attends the overall physical dimensions to growth patterns and the lasting value of a truly technical cut and/or color. My goal is to help clients recreate their hairstyle at home by offering support, tools, and a realistic style for their hair type and lifestyle.

My past experience working in the restaurant business and managing projects for a custom home builder cultivated my ethic for customer service. As a stylist, I've fostered a loyal community of clients, from whom I have learned a great deal about the mutual benefits of providing committed, compassionate customer care. I follow a holistic approach to cutting, which is responsive to the whole body and lifestyle of the client. I believe that I am best at my job when I truly listen to my clients and ask probing questions about their routines, goals, aspirations, and concerns.

I am committed to fostering an environment of continuing education, where stylists can refine their technical skills and cultivate their professional development. L'Atelier hosts traveling educators and offers an apprenticeship model, where new stylists work closely with experienced stylists to develop their technical and interpersonal skills. Along with my co-workers, I attend as many local classes as possible and travel to the Bay Area, San Francisco and Los Angeles for continuing education courses.

I very much look forward to  being a part of the beautiful you.
